The Port of Egypt Restaurant Scene is Hot This Season
Posted On 03/21/2019
There is a lot going on in Southold’s Port of Egypt restaurant scene this season.
A Lure has reopened for the season with spring hours from Thursdays through Sundays for dinner. And, lunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays. Opened in 2011 by Tom Schaudel and Adam Lovett (who also run aMano in Mattituck) A Lure has waterviews, al fresco dining, and a menu filled with seafood and other options. Look for happy hour specials starting at 4pm and a Thursday night $32.95 three-course prix-fixe.
Little Creek Oysters in Greenport is opening a second location at Port of Egypt. Renovations on the charming waterside space are underway. Look for opening date news!
And nearby to Port of Egypt, Waypoint restaurant is opening this spring for a second season at the former Pepe’s site. The waterfront restaurant will be under new management after the January passing of owner Andre Buonaiuto.
And, across the street at Jeni’s Main Street Bistro, look for happy hour specials on Fridays from 5:30pm-8pm. Jeni’s moved last year from its longtime Southold Main Street location (then called Jeni’s Main Street Grill). Jeni’s serves breakfast and lunch and keep your eye out for one of her pop-up dinners.
