Anker is among the North Fork restaurants closed for the season

A number of North Fork restaurants closed for the season – or will soon. But, most will return next spring. Here is a rundown.

Chef Frank DeCarlo of NYC and Shelter Island closed Greenport’s Barba Bianca for the season after Labor Day.

Also, Porto Bello on Stirling Harbor, Crabby Jerry’s at Claudio’s, and Anker on Front Street all closed for the season following the Columbus Day Weekend.

Pizzeria Baccano closed permanently in September – Claudio’s is serving their own pizza from the space.

Caci in Southold is permanently closed. For more, go to https://northforkandknife.com/greenport-grub-fall-2019/

Claudio’s Waterfront will host its last party of the 2019 season on October 26 but the Main Restaurant will remain open. Look for live jazz at the Main restaurant in the second floor bar area this Saturday night.

SALT on Shelter Island is closed for the season. It’s sister restaurant PORT in Greenport is open on weekends for the time being.

Modern Snack Bar in Aquebogue is still open for another month or so before it takes winter break.

Billy’s By The Bay is open weekends and will hosts its annual Christmas/Closing party on Friday, December 1. They will reopen in the spring.

Orient by The Sea is under new ownership and will reopen next spring.

Our friends at Hellenic Restaurant in east Marion take a well-deserved break in December and January. So, stop by and visit them soon.

And, remember, Long island Restaurant Week is coming up soon! Find out when at https://northforkandknife.com/2019-long-island-restaurant-week/
