Maroni Southold is open and offering a Heat-At-Home take-out menu for pick-up on Fridays and Saturdays. A full restaurant opening has been delayed following the sudden death of owner and chef Michael Maroni in March.
The Heat-at-Home Menu offers their famous meatballs in various size pots intended for between 2 and 8 people. Also, half trays of Chicken Milanese, zucchini parm, penne all vodka, salads, sauce, soups and more are available.
Call in your Maroni take-out order on Wednesdays or Thursdays to the Northport restaurant (631) 757-4500, then pick it up at the Southold shop on Fridays from 3pm-8pm or Saturdays between 10am and noon. (This week, additional hours have been added for Thursday, July 4 pickup between 10am-2pm)
Maroni Southold is located at 54195 Main Road. Pick up is at the rear of the building.
Michael and Maria Maroni began renovating the Southold space – formerly Jeni’s Main Street Grill – last year with the expectation of opening a second restaurant fashioned after their popular Northport eatery, Maroni Cuisine. But, the opening was postponed following Michael’s passing. His wife, Maria, is now opening the Southold location as a take-out only restaurant for this summer.
Once featured on The Food Network and also on the Today Show on NBC, the Maroni family are well-known for their ‘hot pots’ of meatballs and pastas. And, the meatballs, they say, are from a century-old family recipe.
