Greenport Grub – Fall 2019

Fall on the North Fork is a busy time for Greenport restaurants, (which make up 50% of the overall North Fork restaurants) – here are some tidbits for you in our latest Fall 2019 Greenport Grub Restaurant News:

Ellen’s on Front is now offering take-out weekday sandwiches, salads and more on Mondays-Thursdays from noon-3pm. Your lunch comes with a bag of North Fork chips. Ellen’s is open for sit- down lunch Friday-Sunday.

Also at Ellen’s on Front, don’t miss Paint Night on Tuesday, October 15 – guided painting of two wine glasses, with a cocktail and munchies. $35 per head – a portion of each ticket sold will be donated to Making Strides of Eastern Long Island, a non-profit helping people impacted by breast cancer. Limited availability so reserve in advance for this terrific fundraiser.

Chef Matty Boudreau, formerly of the Preston House, has joined the Green Hill Kitchen team and will serve as the new Executive Chef. Look for a menu change geared toward barbecue.

Hellenic is hosting an End of Harvest dinner on Saturday, October 19. The six-course dinner features Widows Hole Oysters cocktail hour, winemaker Joan Sepulveda from Laurel Lake Vineyards, and live music. $125 for newsletter recipients; $150 for other guests. Visit Hellenic website for more details.

Stop by First and South next weekend to check out the newest creation from local artist Kara Hoblin – this month’s entire wall mural will reflect the winners of the recent Greenport Top Dog contest. The winner of Top Dog – beagle Attitcus (yes, as in Finch) – who resides at the Rooney residence will be featured along with nine runners-up. Atticus swept the competition with more than 500 votes.
