Frank Purita, Owner of D’Latte, Dies at 53

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Frank Purita, owner of D’Latte on Main Street in Greenport.
Frank also owned the popular Biere restaurant, which he closed in 2015 to expand his bakery and gelato shop, D’Latte. In recent years, he purchased and renovated a Carpenter Street building directly behind D’Latte where his daughter opened Greenport Distilling Co. tasting room.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3 from 2-4 and 7-9 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral home in Southold. DeFriest -Grattan said a funeral mass will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Greenport on Saturday, May 4 at 10am.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Frank’s name to research on bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma) directed by Dr. Nilofer Azad at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
