Cutchogue – By Donna Giancontieri

Bedell Cellars is for sale for 17.9 million following the death of owner Michael Lynne.

Mr. Lynne passed away last month at age 77. The longtime CEO of New Line Cinema purchased Bedell in Cutchogue and nearby Corey Creek nearly twenty years ago. For the past few months, the vineyard has been quietly shopped around. As of this week, it is openly listed for sale with Gary DePersia of Corcoran Group.

The property includes 95 acres set over three North Fork locations and includes both wineries and more than 75 acres of planted vineyard. There is also a 4,000-square-foot events pavilion and a four-bedroom two-story historic farmhouse.

Bedell and Corey Creek, both located on Main Road, attract 100,000 visitors each year in addition to hosting dozens of weddings and events.

Bedell was one of four East End vineyards that championed the local sustainable winegrowing program which became the first of its kind on the East Coast.
